Lord of Temptation by Lorraine Heath is a marvelous, romantic adventure that will take you from London society to high seas adventure.

In 1858 in London, Lady Anne Hayworth is looking for a privateer to take her on a voyage. Someone she trusts has recommended a Captain that goes by the name of Crimson Jack. When she meets this man that came so highly recommended she can’t believe this is the hero she heard so much about. When he finally agrees to take her, the payment he requires is not money but only a kiss. Desperate to make this trip in secret, Anne agrees to his terms. Jack continues to surprise her the more time she spends with him, but she knows when the voyage is over she must leave him to go back to sea and she must go back to society.

I very highly recommend this book! The writing is excellent with captivating characters and a compelling story that hooked from the very start. Tristan/Jack is definitely going on my list of favorite heroes. He’s a complex combination of two worlds. He was born Lord Tristan Easton but was sent off to sea at the young age of 14 where he became Crimson Jack. He’s a tough, roguish sea captain, but with noble upbringing underneath.

This story is full of family drama, London society, high seas action and adventure, mystery, suspense, and romance. It’s a thoroughly engaging and entertaining story from the very start until the very end. I have recently had the opportunity to read several of the Avon romance novels for review and I have loved every single one that I have read! This is the first Lorraine Heath book that I have read but I will most definitely be looking for more!

Book Summary:

Three young heirs, imprisoned by an unscrupulous uncle, escaped—to the sea, to the streets, to faraway battle—awaiting the day when they would return to reclaim their birthright.

Once upon a time, he was Lord Tristan Easton—now he is Crimson Jack, a notorious privateer beholden to none, whose only mistress is the sea. But all that will change when exquisite Lady Anne Hayworth hires his protection on a trip into danger and seduction. . .

Desperation brought Anne to the bronzed, blue-eyed buccaneer. But after the Captain demands a kiss as his payment, desire will keep her at his side. She has never known temptation like this—but to protect her heart, she knows she must leave him behind. Yet Tristan cannot easily forget the beauty—and when they meet again in a London ballroom, he vows he won’t lose her a second time, as fiery passion reignited takes them into uncharted waters that could lead the second lost lord home. . .
